In één van mijn eerdere beoordelingen van een boek van Elizabeth Reyes schreef ik dat ze mij waarschijnlijk nooit teleur kon stellen, maar met dit boek heeft ze dat toch gedaan.

Het begint me de laatste tijd steeds vaker op te vallen dat haar boeken veel fouten bevatten. Veel verkeerd geplaatste komma's, verwisselde woorden etc.
Het doet meestal niet af aan het verhaal, maar als het je ook al niet zo boeit beginnen zulke foutjes steeds  meer op te vallen en wordt het een punt van irritatie.

Wat me daarnaast erg teleurstelde was het ontzettend voorspelbare plot. En ook dit keer zeg ik, is het boeiend dan maakt me dat niet uit . . . . ., maar het boeide me niet genoeg om die plot wending te waarderen.

Al met al een teleurstelling die ik maar moeilijk kan verkroppen omdat ik weet dat Elizabeth Reyes veel beter kan.
Ik vestig mijn hoop op een volgend boek van haar.
